Jack Fletcher (born April 21, 1921-died February 15, 1990) appeared in the recurring role of Whittendale Building owner H.L. Whittendale in six episodes of The Jeffersons from seasons 4-11, beginning with the Season 4 episode "Florence's Union". A versatile and veneralbe character actor, Jack, asides from his role as Mr. Whittendale on The Jeffersons, also well known for roles on the big screen, as he appeared in notable supporting roles in such films as Pennies from Heaven (1981), Any Wednesday (1966) and Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988). Jack also made numerous guest appearances on such popular TV shows as Bewitched, Chico and The Man, The Bob Crane Show, Welcome Back, Kotter, Gimme a Break, Knots Landing, and Charles in Charge He died in Los Angeles, California.
