Ernie Lee Banks played an Roy Simms, an old accquaintance and friend of George and Louise in a Season one episode of The Jeffersons titled "Former Neighbors". He would also appear in a later episode "The List", as a Man In Pool Hall. Ernie haa appeared in numerous guest spots in many TV series and films since 1974, when he first appeared on the hit CBS-TV series Good Times, which was his first TV appearance. He also appeared as Rev. Ralph Abernathy in the 1978 NBC-TV miniseries King, which was about the slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
